Business Profiles What are they? How do I set up a Business Profile? What does the Business Profile look like?

 

What are they?

 

When you join as a member of collectZing, you have the option to list your profile as a Business. Normal, individual members have the following features on their profiles: short descriptions and tags, location (country), collecting interests and how you got started, plus the basic icons (friend, friend of a friend, club president, club member).

 

With Business Profiles, you get additional information: select a list of services you offer, as well as collectible types you deal in; list your personal contact details, including phone number, fax, email, and address; use our Google map to show exactly where you are located; and lastly, you will have a Business icon, differentiating you from individual members in searches.

 

Additionally, as a member with a Business Profile, you can identify yourself to collectors as a dealer of collectibles; using the Marketplace to buy, sell and swap objects, you can set yourself apart from the hobby seller.

 

How do I set up a Business Profile?

 

First you have to join collectZing.com. Membership is FREE for both individuals and businesses.

 

Once you have joined, edit your profile, using the link underneath your profile photo on the left hand side.

 

 

Click on the 'My Business Profile' link:

 

 

Activate your Business Profile by clicking on the checkbox. Next, select information appropriate to your business type; are you an appraiser, or an auction house, or a dealer? Hold down the control key and select as many options as you like. Do the same for the next field, where you can choose a range of collectible types that you work with. Next, choose the country you are located in.

 

 

 

Next, you will have the opportunity to fill out your business name: this is automatically taken from your Screen Name, that you created when you joined collectZing. Lastly, add in your business address (choosing a street location instead of a PO Box will ensure you are shown properly on the Google map), your contact details, and your website URL.

 

 

When you are happy with the information, press Save. You can come back and edit the information at any time.

 

(You can upload your company logo in place of your profile photo, using the 'My Photo' link provided in the profile editing area.)

 

What does the Business Profile look like?

 

A Business Profile includes all the basic member information, as well as the information provided when you activate the Business Profile. From the address information provided, collectZing automatically finds you on a small Google map. Your collections, clubs, tags, and friends list, will all be shown underneath the Business Profile. You will notice you now have a new icon - the Building - which indicates to other members that you are a Business. (Explanation continues under this image)

 

 

As well as this, the search function while browsing the members shows an option to choose between searching for individuals, and searching for businesses.

 

 

And the members who have listed themselves as Businesses will appear, clearly differentiated from individuals because of the attached Building icon.
